Four voices, one piano.

My wife and I both enjoy listening to Psalms and hymns albums while driving, but we’ve always felt something was missing. Either the songs were solely a-cappella and felt stuffy and flat, or they were poorly recorded in a church with an organ which drowned everything out, or they were played on a guitar to a modern praise band (which destroyed the original harmonies and rendered them un-singable).

There was variety of course, but one theme was present everywhere: if an instrument was added to the singing, it was playing something other than what was being sung, embellishing and dramatizing an originally good song into oblivion.

Hannah and I wanted something different for our car rides. We knew exactly what would sound good, but nobody else was doing it. So in the end, we did it ourselves: sing some Psalms and hymns to four-part harmonies and add a piano playing the exact same four parts in the background. The result, we think, is quick tasteful and enjoyable to listen to.
